Playing with Daddy

Rick got a lot more Jenya time today since I wasn’t feeling so good. I came down with traveler’s diarrhea last night. It was just awful and because I didn’t get any sleep overnight I was very weak and tired today. But seeing my girl gave me such a boost of energy!

Jenya was such a cutie today. I wish we could post videos on the blog because we have a great one of her listening to the iTouch and bobbing her head to the music. We’ve also discovered that she loves to play with blocks, as you can see in the first picture. We play with them every day and she doesn’t seem to get bored with it. I know what our first toy purchase will have to be! I love the pic of Jenya with her daddy - her tongue is usually out of her mouth more than it is in! It's so funny.

Some of you were asking about Jenya’s baptism, and we plan on having it at the Catholic church where we were married. There is a beautiful Catholic church being built right around the corner from our hotel here, but it hasn’t opened yet. I hope to get a picture of it, it’s enormous. We were hoping to find a Kazakh outfit for Jenya to wear. They consist of elaborate vests and beautiful hats. I found a really nice white vest with silver in the design, but it was too big for Jenya. Maybe I’ll go back and get it and have it taken in. I may have to get one for myself because Rick really loves the way they look!

Unfortunately there will be no food updates today, and maybe for quite a few days. I can’t even think about eating right now! I may spend the rest of the time here eating dry cereal for fear of getting sick again. I sure hope Rick and Catherine don’t get it!
