We have to give credit to my 91 year old Grandma for the name of our blog. We were sitting in her kitchen one day as she was trying to remember Rick's name but looking at me for help, and what came out was "Krick!" We all laughed as we realized that she had created what Entertainment Tonight and other celebrity news shows had previously done - a super couple hybrid name! So thanks to Gram we're now Krick, like Brangelina and Tomkat, except not at all famous and thankful for it. (Rick may beg to differ!)
We are so happy to have all our family and friends following along on our journey to meet and bring home our baby. We hope to keep you updated on our daily visits to the orphanage and on all our adventures while in Kazakhstan. Please feel free to post comments or questions to the blog. We would love to hear from you. Even if it's just to tell us about the weather back home or who won The Next Food Network Star! I'm going to miss my reality TV - thank goodness for DVR :)
Thanks for the invite, Krick. I look forward to following along. Good luck!

Kristen & Rick, today is the start of the rest of your life. Altho this will be a long trip, away from family & friends, It is the begining of "YOUR FAMILY". In a few days, you will be looking into the eyes of the child God has been holding in His arms, waiting until you both get there. You will know at first glance, because through that childs eyes, God will be looking back at you with all His Blessings. God Bless all of you
