Our poor little Jenya is still sick! She’s got a productive sounding cough and runny nose. It’s funny that I’ve always been grossed out by other people’s saliva and bodily fluids, but with my baby girl it doesn’t even phase me. I can kiss all over her snotty nose and love every minute of it. When I got to change her first poopy diaper the other day I was actually excited! To say we are enjoying every minute of being parents together is an understatement. So, since she Jenya was still under the weather, we stayed inside today. Unfortunately, they had just repainted an area of the baby house and the smell was really strong. I wish we could have gotten her out in the fresh air for that reason alone.
Jenya is learning how to give Mommy and her blankie kisses and it’s so cute. She opens her mouth and sticks out her tongue just a little - we’re going to have to watch her when she gets older! She also LOVES to blow raspberries. Maybe Daddy shouldn’t have taught her that one because by the time she’s done we are soaked with her saliva. We got great video of her doing that, but Blogger is not allowing me to post them. I am so disappointed, especially since her little cousin Paulie wants to see “the ones with the talking” instead of just pictures of Jenya! So cute.
We finally found Johnny Walker’s Pub tonight and had a fantastic meal. We’ve been craving vegetables since we arrived here. Can you believe it? But the main vegetable served with most meals is potatoes and we have had our fill. We had great salads for dinner, the tomatoes here are so fresh and tasty. Rick says the first thing he wants when he gets back to the States is a hamburger. For me, it’s definitely enchiladas from Pancho Villa’s. They’d better be open when get back!
I realized as we were going through the pictures tonight that there’s an awful lot of Jenya and me. It’s mostly because Daddy loves to take the pictures. I’ll have to be better about taking the camera and turning it on him and Jenya. Daddy definitely makes her laugh with all his silliness, can you imagine??
Kristen, you are NOW A FULL BLOWN MOMMY!!!you have passed all the requirements. From snotty nose to poop,YEAH!!!! .I can not even imagine Rick acting silly!!! He is always so serious.:)
ReplyDeleteI love the kisses, they sound really sloppy.:)
You would think they would want her out in the fresh air. It would be better for her than the smell of paint. Poor baby. Does she have a temp?
I will say a prayer. Lv to all
I can't believe you enjoy saliva and poopy diapers but it just shows that you are totally in love with your Jenya baby. I know how you've always felt about spit and how it grossed you out!!! The pictures are so adorable. Jenya makes some cute little faces. I pray that she gets rid of her cold soon but she doesn't look like she's sick in the pictures. What do they give her for it? Poor Rick isn't in too many pictures but we know he's there. We've seen him a couple of times. Keep the pictures coming. Lots of love and kisses
ReplyDelete*Ok, I had been checking this blog since 9:30.
ReplyDeleteI was haveing Jenya withdrawal....
Such a happy baby !!kisses from Diane
ReplyDeleteKissy,Kissy, Kissy! I love it. Please teach her to blow kisses for Aunt Kelly can catch one.
ReplyDeleteLove you
XXXOOO
I love how Jenya and Robbie are learning all the same things - he just started giving kisses in the last week or so too! It's going to be so much fun to watch them grow up together. I really cannot wait!!
ReplyDeleteGive your baby girl a huge, wet smooch from Robbie!
Awww, see I told you that you wouldn't mind the spit and boogers. Coming from another slim hater, I only love beanie's slobber! who would have thought, huh?? You are definitely officially a mom now.
ReplyDeleteI love that she is giving you kisses. Tell her Kennedy is sending a messy wet kiss over. (She keeps waving and clapping everytime I show her Jenya's picture.)
MMMMM, Poncho's. Think we could air mail it over????
So the big food question is, have you found any decent pizza? If not, this must be the biggest pizza-free stretch of your life!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, my guess is that there are so many more pictures of you because Rick can't tear that baby girl out of your arms long enough to be in a picture! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you could get Pancho's salsa and chips here April we would be so appreciative! But I can wait until I get home so we can go together!
ReplyDeleteKaren, believe it or not we've had pizza quite a few times here already. It's really good, but different than what we're used to. It usually has some sort of salami or chicken on it with tomatoes and mushrooms. The sauce is not the same either, but it is tasty. One time there was corn on the pizza! It was at the bowling alley and didn't taste very good, though.
And you're right, I love having Jenya in my arms for the whole 3 hours we get to see her. She always wants to come to me too, I love it!
I'm so glad you are able to bond with her so quickly...she was definitely meant to be your baby girl. You must be a wreck every time you have to leave, I can't even imagine. But all the trying parts of this will pay off in the end when you get to bring her home forever soon. You'll never have to leave her again!
ReplyDeleteand yeah - it's 3:30 in the morning. Stupid steroids keep me up, but they also keep me from being nauseous, so I guess it's a good trade off. Really annoying though.
