Sorry today’s post is so late! We had quite a busy day today. We went to see Jenya this morning and her fever was gone! We were so happy. We played and had a great visit and then our translator told us that our meeting with the Department of Education was going to be this afternoon. It’s probably better that we had so little advance warning because I would have stressed out about it for a while. You know Rick, nothing really phases him, so it was just me freaking out. But it seemed to go smoothly. Natasha told as afterwards that we did an excellent job and that it went really well. What a relief. The reason this meeting is so important is that the woman from the DOE that interviewed us will represent us in court.
During our visit with Jenya, the baby house put on a puppet show for the older children. By older I mean 3-5 year olds. It was so cute. Jenya really enjoyed it and even clapped with everyone at the end! One of the families that is leaving tonight gave out stuffed animals to all the children at the end. One of Jenya’s caregivers really wanted her to have one too, so she pushed me up to the front to get one for Jenya. It was so sweet. I love how much they care for her, and that she has been and will continue to be in such good hands until we are able to take her home. That is what gets me through when I have to think of leaving her.
So happy to hear that everything went well with DOE. But if we can see the connection in pictures, I am sure they can see it.
ReplyDeleteI love the bandanna, is it a authenic head wear?
And the Nike, did you bring it with you or do they sell it there?
Every one of these pictures are adorable. I love the scarf on her head. She is a cutie. I am so happy to hear that Jenya's fever is gone. I worry about her already.
ReplyDeleteLike Theresa said, how can they deny the love you have for Jenya when we can see it in your pictures and of course, the love Jenya has for the both of you.
She has the cutest face for hats. She always looks so beautiful in them. I could just kiss those little cheeks. Cant' wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell Mary we will finally have someone in our family that looks good in hats, HAHA :o)
ReplyDeleteI am soooo glad that Jenya is feeling better. And what a relief that you have another thing to check of the list and are another step closer to bringing Jenya home. It probably is a very good thing you didn't have advance notice. Even though we can all see how quickly you have all bonded and how much the three of you love each other.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see Jenya wearing more of Kennedy's things. I love seeing that! That picture in the middle cracks me up. she is looking at Rick like 'dad is she seriously putting this thing on my head?' I also love the last one and the way she looks at Rick it is just so beautiful.
check that off! One step closer to home!!
ReplyDeleteLol. The Nike hat was a gift from April. She gave me so many of Kennedy's things to take over here because I thought we would be getting a younger baby. But the hats and some of the shirts fit Jenya!
ReplyDeleteThe scarf-like hat I bought in the open air market near the hotel. I've seen many older women and little girls wearing them and just loved it :)
Glad everything went will with the DOE. I love the pictures. Happy to hear Jenya is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteLove ya

ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear that Jenya is feeling better.
You must be so relieved that the DOE meeting is over and went well. This is all such a stressful adventure for the three of you!

ReplyDeleteFrom all you have written it appears that the caregivers in the baby house really love Jenya (how can they not)......it must give you some peace of mind that in the short time you will be home waiting for her - she will be looked after with so much love. God Bless those ladies (and all the other children waiting to find a family too) !!!!!!
