It turned really cold and windy here today, so we had to stay inside for our morning visit. Jenya was especially happy to see us this morning, she was all smiles and “talking” like crazy. We played for a while with the blocks, as you can see it’s still her favorite toy! In the second picture she’s clapping for herself after she dumped all the blocks from the basket onto her lap. She cracks us up. I’ve taken some great video clips that I can’t wait to show when we get home. It will almost be like being with her!
Jenya also likes to look at books and I got a great shot of daddy reading to her. I hope she loves to read as much as I did growing up!
We found out today that we have court to finalize the adoption at 9am on Friday. So at 11pm Thursday night please send us your thoughts and prayers for a smooth and successful proceeding. We’d really appreciate it! Friday will also be the last day we see Jenya for about a month, as we fly to Almaty that night and then home on Tuesday. It’s so bittersweet because we can’t wait to get back home but are dreading having to say goodbye to our baby for a few weeks.
Kristen, I just want to squeeze Jenya's adorable cheeks!!!! And Kennedy is very excited that she has more hair than someone : )
ReplyDeleteWe will certainly be praying, as we have been all along, that court goes smoothly.
I love the one of Rick reading to her. I can't believe you guys are on your way home so soon! I know it will be hard, but everything just brings you one step closer to finishing the process and having your little girl home. Just remember that she's with people that obviously love and care for her and that she will be as well taken care of while you're gone as she has already been. I'm sure you'll be so busy with things at home that the time will go quickly and she'll be back home with Mommy and Daddy before you know it! Then you will never be away from her again!

ReplyDeleteI couldn't get on the blog so I had dad sign on his account for me. That's why it under Thomas.
We are praying everyday for you and that court will be successful. We pray for a fair and honest judge. You already have the education guys on your side so this should be a lot easier.
Jenya is so cute clapping for herself with the blocks. Her little hands are adorable. You've captured a great picture. I love all the pictures and can't wait to see the videos. It will be like having her here with us until we can really get her home.
Kristen, God's hand is all over this, don't you doubt for one moment that things won't go as smoothly as the rest of the process has been. You need to trust Him, as we know God is in control. And we are thankful for that! Lvoe you all.
ReplyDeletevery cute how proud she is of making a mess! oh what things to come when she gets home next month!! Will be keeping fingers crossed and prayers sent every day through Friday. I am sure it will go great! I do not think that a judge could ask for more loving, caring parents who could give Jenya a great life!
ReplyDeleteI DITTO ALL THE OTHER COMMENTS...."WITH GREAT SORROW AND TEARS AT NIGHT...JOY WILL COME IN THE MORNING"...THIS IS NOT MY QUOTE, BUT GODS...AND HE WILL NOT TAKE ANYTHING BACK...

Kristen, I see another man, with his back to the camera, in the second picture. Is he a parent? or caregiver? because that baby looks older.
ReplyDeleteTheresa - You spend as much time on this blog as I do :)) Can't stay away. We keep looking at the pictures and videos over and over. Now I can watch the singing and dancing video myself now that I'm home. Jenya's so darn cute!!
ReplyDeleteAunt T, it is another parent. The couple is adopting siblings, a boy that seems to be about 4 and a girl that is 1 1/2. The playroom is full of families now! It's great to see all the kids with their new parents.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank God the other babies are getting adopted. I was starting to worry about them. I was thinking that I would have to come over there and get them myself. :)
ReplyDeleteYes Mary, you have no idea how many times I pull up this blog a day, haha. I have to show my staff my great neice and nephews every time new pictures come up on the blog & FB. I can not even imagin how I well be with my own great grandchildren. Watch out world.:)
