Wednesday Morning Visit

There’s not too much new to update, Jenya continues to be so excited to see us and sad for us to leave. I found out that as of July 30, she weighed 19.6lbs. That means by next month we can skip right over the infant car seat, right? Karen, thank you so much for all the infant gear you lent us, but I guess we won’t be needing any of it! Who knew we would come home with a one year old?

Jenya is getting better at walking on her own, too. She can take 5 or 6 steps before she starts to lose control of her feet. I think the problem is that she gets so excited to walk to us that she starts giggling and running head first, which doesn’t work too well! I have no idea what to expect when we see her again next month. She could be walking on her own by then because the caregivers have figured out that she’s trying and they like to practice with her too.

We also haven’t been taking as many pictures because it takes away from our precious time playing with Jenya. So the ones I’ve posted are the best we could get today! Hope you enjoy them.

April - today is the last goldfriend night apart! Woohoo! Can't wait to get back into the gf routine :)

  1. Kristen what are you doing posting at 4:51am? Can't sleep? I could just imagine the "seperation anxiety" you both are going through. But the outlook is bright. You will get through this month seperation, with a lot of prayer. The three of you are truly blessed to have found each other. You can see that Jenyas caregivers will take care of her for you, till your return.

  2. outside again! it is so great that you are able to bring her out so much, seems she really enjoys exploring this unknown world. can you leave her with pictures of you and Rick? maybe a video or recording of your voices? Just some ideas to help her until Mommy comes back to bring her home!

  3. Aunt T - I'm pretty sure that's 4:51 our time, not hers. :)

I love those close up pictures of her face...she is just so gorgeous! I was thinking that too about the infant gear. We can just bring it back home next weekend if we can fit it all in the car. I'll just sell it at a garage sale, unless of course you want to hang on to it for possible future use!

I can't wait to see you guys next weekend!!

  4. I've changed my background to the last picture. Every one of them is so adorable that I keep changing it. She looks like she's thinking and exploring so seriously. Jenya will probably walk to us when we go to pick her up. When we open the door to greet her she will walk in on her own:):):). Only teasing you. Anxiously waiting to hear when we will be going.

  5. Mom, we'll probably find out when we are supposed to go back shortly after court. By the time Rick and I get home we hope to know the date.

Karen, if you can fit the stuff in your car it's all yours again! We may have another little one, but it won't for a while!

  6. Jessica, we are going to leave pictures we've taken of the three of us with Jenya. I just hope they let her play with the photo album while we're gone!

  7. Kristen - just watched Next Foodnetwork Star....Aarti is kicking butt!!!!! See...the time home will fly by with all the TV you have to catch up on. Then you have to get her room reaady. You'll be back for her before you know it! And I'm sure all the caretakers that love her so much will be paying extra attention because they know she's leaving so she'll be having fun too.

  8. Gold friend, I am so greatful that this is the last gf night alone. Randy said it has been very difficult to have to watch the reality tv and keep me happy each wednesday. I'm looking forward to when it will be both gold friends and both baby gold friends hanging out together.

BTW- I just love love love those close-ups of Jenya's face. Kennedy and I keep looking at them together.

How special that Jenya has taken those first few steps with mommy and daddy there to watch... I'm sure your worried that she'll be a "walking pro" when you go back to bring her home next month-just remember that you got to see those early "MOST SPECIAL" attempts.....five or six steps wow..... You'll cherish those memories!!!
